Mime, clown, actor, director. He studied acting at the the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts. At the end of the 1960s, he co-founded the Husa na provázku Theatre in Brno, where he was engaged until the year 1992. Today he runs his own theatre, Divadlo Bolka Polívky. He has acted in the plays Podivné odpoledne Dr. Zvonka Burkeho – Dr. Zvonek Burke’s Strange Afternoon, Příběhy dona Quijota – Tales of Don Quixote, Am and Ea, Klaunerie - Clownery, Balada pro banditu – Ballad for the Bandit, Šašek a královna – The Clown and the Queen and many others. He has performed in many films, including Kalamita - Calamity, Poslední leč – The Hunt Ball, Něžný barbar – Tender Barbarian, Zapomenuté světlo – Forgotten Light, Pupendo. He regularly appears on TV in his programme Manéž. Recently, he has been developing social activities at his farm in Olšany. At Brno City Theatre, he guests in the tragicomedy Kean IV and in Beckett’s Waiting for Godot as Vladimir.
