David Kachlíř was born in Brno, where he studied Electrical Engineering at a secondary vocational school. He’s been employed at Brno City Theatre since 1990, where he became interested in theatre lighting while working as a stage technician. In 1993 he became a lighting technician, and three years later was promoted to the post of Chief Lighting Technician.
David Kachlíř is a specialist in theatre and concert lighting, and regularly cooperates with Czech Television. He gained his great experience with a wide range of lighting design technologies and techniques partly while on work assignments abroad when the theatre’s musicals were touring in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland and Spain.
