Petr Hloušek, graduate of School of Applied Arts in Brno and Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in the field of illustrations, has started his career as graphic designer (1996) and later applied his experience of an illustrator to stage and animation media.
Since 2005 he has been working on stage designing both in the Czech Republic and the states of EU: Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Austria), Hair (Switzerland,Germany), Magical Broadway, Jekyll and Hyde, Jazz Side Story, Mozart!, The Book With No Name (Czech Republic), Friedrich (Potsdam, Germany), Guys and Dolls (Ostrava, Czech Republic).
He started to work as a scenographer with the scenographer Jaroslav Milfajt. Both of them put their signatures under ballet opus Charlotta, The Empress of Mexico for Divadlo F. X. Šaldy in Liberec as well as under the staging of Doma u Hitlerů for Divadlo v Dlouhé in Prague. Together they created staging of Sugar (Some Like It Hot) for the Ljublana City Theater in 2008 that became a staging of the year in Slovenia and later on was presented in Prague, Brno (Czech Republic) and Bautzen (Germany). Their cooperation continued in next musical staging of Beauty and the Beast.
In 2010 Petr has surprised by his magnificent arrangement of staging of the musical Mary Poppins (Brno, Czech Republic) that was by server Musical.cz nominated to the staging of the year. He fully used combination of realistic stage set and film 3D animations making them to work as a unique whole, he continued using this combination of both methods in musical Cinderella on Ice in the next year.
Petr lives and works in his designer and post-production studio in Brno.
