Operetta
The story of the successful operetta by Strauss is situated in the Venice of the 18th century during one night, in which a series of love misunderstandings and mistakes happen, set in the exotic environment of higher society. A young couple in love get entangled in a number of unexpected and often brilliantly funny situations. The Libretto by F. Zell and R. Genée makes a good basis for an impressive staging, intensified by the brilliant music by Strauss.
