Christoph Weyers has successfully been at home on European stages for many years. He started his career as an associate set designer for musicals such as DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, CATS, LES MISÉRABLES and MOZART!. Apart from major commercial productions like ICH WILL SPASS or THE BUDDY HOLLYSTORY he also created the set and costume design for well known shows such as LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, ANYTHING GOES or JEKYLL & HYDE, just to name a few.
Among his more than 50 musical productions, Christoph Weyers also designed several world premieres and nationwide debut performances like George Gershwin‘s PARDON MY ENGLISH, Stephen Sondheim‘s PASSION at the Staatsoperette Dresden, FLASHDANCE and GHOST in Brno, THE MEDICUS at the Schlosstheater in Fulda. For the world premiere of the musicals POE by Eric Woolfson and TIMM THALER he was not only responsible for the set design but also created the costumes for those shows. In 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2016 he received the Czech Audience Award for the best stage design. His portfolio in Open Air Theatre is no less impressive. He not only created the look for DISNEY‘S BEAUTY & THE BEAST and the ROCKY HORROR SHOW at the Domplatz-Open-Air in Magdeburg but has also been responsible for the overall design at the Walensee stage in Switzerland for years with productions like TELL or TITANIC.
Among other things he took over the equipment for the musical RENT at the National Theatre Lubljana in 2017. His most recent works in 2018 are the stage sets for CHAPLIN, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER and SPAMALOT, which premiered at the Mestske Divadlo in Brno.
